Developed by Eurobond Adhesives as a simple and effective cleaning agent, Europurge is an extremely effective purging, cleaning and flushing agent, designed to be used in cleaning dies, screws and barrels in the manufacture of blown film and plastic injection moulded products.
This product is completely non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive, and can be used during production, allowing a reduction in downtime.
Why you should use Europurge
Europurge has been designed to help prevent the build-up of ‘clag’. This ‘clag’ is the build-up of solidified plastic granules on the edges of the die and rip blown film as they pass through. If allowed to happen, then the cleaning and maintenance of dies in the manufacture of blown film can become costly for manufacturers. The affected machine has to be shut down, cleaned and then set up once again.
Using Europurge
The white coloured flakes found in Europurge, are used to clean dies, screws, extruders, hot runners and barrels in blown film manufacturing and plastic injection moulding.
The product can be mixed with either the incoming raw material in the hopper, or sprinkled onto the blown film die in the ratio of 150-200g per 5 kilos. Unless changing from black to white, this ratio should be adhered to. When changing from black to white then the quantity of Europurge used should be increased to 250-300g.
When flushing or purging, it is recommended that the process screw speeds are reduced down to 10-20rpm. Slower revolutions are much safer and also give the best results. Europurge has an operating temperature of between 165-200°C but with care it can be used up to a temperature of 300°C.
When purging an extruder, there is no requirement to remove the die as Europurge is effective in the screw, die and barrel, without building up back pressure.
