Do I need to prepare the surfaces prior to bonding
We would always recommend that you lightly abrade and clean all surfaces that require bonding. Eurobond Surface Cleaning Wipes are best suited for this. Do not use Meths, White Spirits or aromatic cleaners as they will leave a microscopic film on the surface which acts as a barrier and contaminant which will prevent the adhesive from bonding properly to the substrate. Bricks, timber and plasterboard need to be clean and free from any dust or dirt.
Do I need to prime the surfaces prior to bonding?
MS Polymers are designed for primerless adhesion to most surfaces.
How long will the adhesive take to cure?
MS Polymers cure by the absorption and reaction with surface and atmospheric moisture. Typically at room temperature and 50%RH an MS Polymer will cure up to 3mm thickness in 24hrs. Eurobond Solo, has a very fast and strong initial grab meaning your parts will self-support after just 10 minutes and will continue to cure over 24hours. Eurobond QuickFix is a unique 2-part flexible MS Polymer which will fully cure in just 4 hours.
Can I apply MS Polymer adhesive in any temperature?
We recommend applying this adhesive in temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. The adhesive will not cure when it’s applied in temperatures below 5°C.
Can I apply the adhesive in the wet?
Yes, MS Polymers can be applied directly to damp surfaces.
Can I use an MS Polymer for sealing or bonding against fire?
Eurobond SAFE FIX®FR300 is a fire resistant MS Polymer adhesive and is designed to bond and seal construction and many other joints against fire.
Can I use an MS Polymer adhesive in a food contact area?
Eurobond ClearFix is a Food Safe adhesive and can be used to bond materials together that may be in direct contact with food.
