The requirements for high end displays are numerous:
- Reading must be comfortable
- They must be shatter-proof
- They must maintain their clarity for the life of the products. This is particularly challenging for displays in cars and smartphones or cameras as they are expected to be non-yellowing despite the influence of sunlight and other climate stresses
- To protect electronics from external influences such as atmospheric humidity, dust and cleaning agents
Eurobond Adhesives are distributors for specially formulated optical UV adhesives manufactured by Panacol Gmbh. They are designed to be optically clear and non-yellowing (LOCA=liquid optically clear adhesives). They are flexible enough to provide the ability to intercept thermal stresses between dissimilar substrates and to reduce Mura defects. Panacol’s form-in-place-gaskets (FIPG) can be used for simultaneous bonding and sealing of displays and touchscreens. These specialist adhesives exhibit excellent adhesion to ITO coated glass, PMMA, PET, and PC and cure within seconds under UV irradiation. Dual curing adhesives are also available which react to atmospheric moisture and will cure reliably in shadowed areas within the display frame.
