Bonded Metals that can be Powder Coated

Eurobond have the only structural adhesive in the market called Penloc VT Plus that will tolerate 200°C in a tunnel oven for 20 minutes. This fast curing adhesives reaches handling strength in just 15 minutes and fully cures in one hour. As a high viscosity adhesive it also offers great gap fill capabilities. It’s available in 50ml and 400ml cartridges and is ideally suited for bonding rigid metal parts 24hrs prior to powder coating.

For flexible metal sheets greater than 1,000mm wide we would recommend using our high temperature structural adhesive tape called EB4525C. This specialist tape offers instant adhesion to just about any material and will also tolerate 200°C in a powder coating oven. As a flexible tape it remains dimensionally stable and will flex with the sheet metals as they buckle and warp with the heat stress of the oven as they pass through it.

A typical example of where Penloc VT Plus is used is in the manufacture of built up letters. The metalwork is bonded together and 24hrs later put through the powder coat oven. Then the coloured plastic face is bonded and sealed into place using our Eurobond ClearFix product.
